Finding a photographer for your wedding was a task so difficult, I had convinced myself I didn't want one. I wanted pictures that were casual and laid back, but not lazy. Stylish but not posed, creative and sincere without being cliche. I wanted someone with ideas who wouldn't remind me to smile. I wanted someone who would fit into my day so well i would often forget they were there. These parameters felt so complex to me, i was convinced I didn't want a wedding photographer, but what i wanted was a Benji.
Benji eased into my wedding perfectly, never posing or prying, just capturing the real human emotion of it all. Benji was calm and centred, making me feel calm and centred. He was never in the way, biding by the atmosphere we wanted, it was a moment - an experience, it wasnt content.
The morning we sat lovingly flicking through our wedding photos, the 2 things me and my husband said the most were "Oh good! I look like me!" And "Oh my GOD, I actually can't believe he managed to get a photo of that". To look at the pictures is to relive the day, to be right there in the room for the moments i remember, and those hazy ones i don't. I would almost get married again just so Benji could take more beautiful pictures of my beautiful life.

My husband and I admittedly started looking for a photographer much later than we should have. We were keen on finding someone who would be able to capture our special days in a way that felt natural, effortless and almost like a documentary. I stumbled across Benji's website and felt right away that he was the one! Lucky for us (and gracious of him), he was able to squeeze us in his schedule. Prior to the wedding, he reached out asking for context, our shot lists and any additional information he would need. On the actual day, he was right on time and as promised, blended right into the background. He was a delight to get to know, offered gentle guidance / feedback and really made 'taking photos' the least stressful part of the day.
Our wedding photos feel like we're reliving the moment all over again..they're dynamic, natural and incredibly beautiful. We can't thank Benji enough for capturing our special days -- the photos are an everlasting gift and we're truly so grateful to him.

Benji manages to perfectly balance creativity and professionalism...
...he is fun and good at coming up with creative ideas (and running with our crazy plans!) but he also shows up and takes it seriously if that's what's called for. Sometimes even ridiculous ideas needs someone to sail the ship and see it through and we can always rely on Benji for this.
He also doesn't mind telling us when something looks bad and being honest about realistic boundaries without squashing our creativity and ruining the vibe
